Mr. Miguel Amaro Head of the Retina Unit at Hospital CUF Tejo & Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Hospital CUF Torres Vedras

Mr. Miguel Amaro is a distinguished figure in the field of ophthalmology, currently holding the positions of Head of the Retina Unit at Hospital CUF Tejo and Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Hospital CUF Torres Vedras. Having served as the Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Hospital Vila Franca de Xira from 2011 to 2022, Mr. Miguel Amaro has made significant contributions to the landscape of eye care.

    Interactive case discussion session of a range of ocular conditions requiring therapeutic management.

  • YAG capsulotomy Discussion Workshop by allied health professionals.

    An interactive discussion session on the management of posterior capsular opacification and how allied health professionals undergo training to deliver YAG Capsulotomy. Cases will be presented.

  • Update on Biometry

    An interactive discussion session the role of biometry in IOL surgery, the interpretation of scans and tips for obtaining accurate data with hands on experience of IOLMaster.

  • Patient Counselling Mastery: Essential Skills

    This workshop aims to introduce Patient Counsellors and Optometrists to fundamental counselling skills to enhance communication and improve conversion.

  • Glaucoma Discussion Workshop

    Interactive case discussion session on patients presenting with signs of glaucoma, referencing the latest guidance.

  • Maximising Ophthalmic Imaging Potential with Ultra-Wide Field (UWF) Imaging and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

    This workshop aims to explore the potential of multimodal imaging for diagnosing suspected pathologies in Ophthalmology and Optometry. Through the use of OCT, OCTA, and UWF modalities, attendees will learn how to best utilise these tools to gain diagnoses and effectively treat patients through discussion of clinical cases and hands on.

  • Tomography & topography Discussion workshop

    Interactive discussion workshop covering the importance of the technique and capabilities of devices used in mapping the anterior segment, including interpretation of cases.
