Keynote Speaker

Professor Robert MacLaren

Professor Robert MacLaren is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Nuffield Health Oxford, The Manor Hospital, and Oxford Eye Hospital, and Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Oxford. He specialises in cataract and retinal surgery, genetic eye disorders, and innovative treatments such as gene and robotic therapies.

A pioneer in ophthalmology, he has led world-first breakthroughs including the choroideremia gene therapy trial, electronic retinal implants, and the first robot-assisted eye surgery. He also trains surgeons internationally in advanced retinal and cataract techniques.

Recognised as an NIHR Senior Investigator and recipient of multiple awards, including the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Keeler Medal, Professor MacLaren continues to advance patient care and surgical innovation worldwide.

Booking Confirmation: Your place on the course is not guaranteed until a payment or purchase order is received. Upon receipt of payment, you will then be sent a booking confirmation email.

Cancellation: Cancellations may be subject to a cancellation fee. The cancellation of attendance by the customer with less than 4 weeks’ notice will incur the below charges:
- More than 4 weeks’ notice: no cost incurred
- Within 4 weeks of agreed date: 25%
- Within 3 weeks of agreed date: 50%
- Within 2 weeks of agreed date: 75%

In the unlikely event that ZEISS must cancel the course, all registered participants will be notified promptly, and any payments received will be fully refunded. However, ZEISS will not be liable for any costs related to travel or accommodation, so we do recommend booking flexible or refundable options where possible

Training Materials: Any training materials, resources, or equipment provided during the training remain the property of the training provider.

Intellectual Property: Any intellectual property, including training materials and content, is protected by copyright, and should not be reproduced, distributed, or shared without explicit permission.

Quality Assurance: The training provider reserves the right to make changes to the training content or schedule to enhance the quality of the training.

Force Majeure: The training provider is not liable for any delays, cancellations, or changes to training sessions due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, or government regulations.

Feedback: Participants are encouraged to provide feedback on the training session for continuous improvement. Certificates will only be issued after completion of a feedback survey per participant.

Non-Transferability: The training booking is non-transferable without the explicit consent of the training provider.
