SESSION SYNOPSIS

Life in 3D: New Frontiers in Microsurgical Breast Reconstruction

Hybrid visualisation systems are redefining microsurgery by enhancing precision, ergonomics and teaching. This lecture explores the integration of the ZEISS KINEVO 900 into microsurgical breast reconstruction practice, highlighting its impact on surgeon posture, workflow efficiency and intraoperative collaboration. Drawing on real clinical cases, it demonstrates how robotic positioning, 3D digital imaging and shared visualisation have transformed the performance and teaching of vascular anastomosis. Practical insights into setup, learning curve and outcomes will be discussed, alongside reflections on the future of digital and augmented microsurgery. Attendees will gain actionable strategies for adopting hybrid visualisation in reconstructive practice.
