    BirdLife International - Feature Area

The scientists at BirdLife International assess how likely it is that individual bird species will become extinct in the near future. Their predictions are based on observations or estimations made with regard to population decline over a ten-year period, or over three generations.

ZEISS fund scientific surveys conducted by BirdLife in order to define the measures needed to protect natural habitats and to raise awareness about the threats facing the various species.

Join ZEISS on stand 4 in the optics marquee to learn more about our work with BirdLife International.

Should your requirements not be possible at the event, our engineers will retain the product and your details, ensuring that the problem is resolved upon return to our offices. The product will then be sent to you following completion.

ZEISS Sponsored BBRC Award "The Carl Zeiss Award 2017'

    Presented by TV's Simon King

    Main Event Marquee Friday 18th August 17:00 - 17:30

Following its introduction back in 1991, “The Carl Zeiss Award” is an award that recognises one unique photographer by the BBRC (British Birds Rarities Committee).

Formerly awarded for the most instructive photograph, or series of photographs showcasing a rarity submission, the award now focuses around the best overall submission to the competition.

25 years after the inception of the award, entries have risen along with the overall quality of all entries. This has made the judging process this year harder than ever before.

The award will be presented as part of the British Bird Photography Awards at Birdfair this year, taking place in the main event marquee from 17:00hrs. ZEISS are pleased that the award will be presented by naturalist, TV presenter and ZEISS Ambassador Simon King. The winner will receive a ZEISS Victory SF 8x42 Binocular.

Click here to visit the BBRC's website to read more about the award.
