Communication in an age of ongoing digitalisation

"In the future our eyes will be increasingly glued to screens as a result of digitalisation. Will we live in a purely digital world in a few years' time?“

Digitalisation will continue to progress. Our eyes will be increasingly glued to screens. We asked three experts to give us their assessment of the situation. Will we only live in a purely digital world in a few years' time?

A gigantic network envelops the world

These days most communication takes place virtually. We arrange to meet friends in chats. We read the news on our mobile phones and use emojis to express our emotions. The digital world allows us to reach and contact people quickly and easily. You could say that this revolution in communication has immensely simplified our lives. But has it? Is it making us more shallow and superficial? We met Iman Zeraatcar, Digital Strategist at TLGG, to talk about the implications and tendencies of advancing digitalisation.

“GIFs are pretty much more entertaining than I could ever be. I could never express what these little animations do in just 3 seconds.”

Digital Romance

Dating and getting in touch with other people are increasingly taking place on digital channels. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that new, optimised dating apps are now taking the market by storm practically every day. Georg Gajewski, an expert in online dating, tells us about his professional experience – and how he sees the future. How do you assess the latest developments? What will the future bring?

“A real-life conversation is totally different. You have non-verbal language, and your sense of smell also plays an important role: absolutely everything counts. And now you only have text images. And that has changed peoples' behavior.”

Recruiting the Future

The field of recruiting is becoming more and more internationalised in the digital age. Various networks and career portals allow candidates to find jobs all over the world. At the same time, recruiters have the opportunity to search for and also find their suitable acquirer worldwide. We met recruiting manager Henrik Roger and talked about Recruiting 2.0 - how we can utilise the advantages of digital platforms. And how this enables us to concentrate on the essentials.

“ The less effort you have to put into managing programs and lists, the more time you can spend on the important parts of the HR business, and that is communicating with people.”

Recruiting & Freelance Manager at TLGG
