Meet our ambassadors

Nick Baker

Naturalist, ecologist, broadcaster and author. Nick is a naturalist that has managed to turn his love of all living things into a long and varied career. Over the last 30 years this has included broadcasting for BBC, National Geographic, FIVE, Animal Planet and Discovery, writing over 11 natural history books, designing educational toys and working as a wildlife guide, speaker, lecturer and educator. He is currently (mainly) working as an ecologist - trying to find one of Britain's rarest beetles and farming wood ants in his shed.

Bonner Black

Bonner Black, the Nashville-based musician and keen birder who finds inspiration for her songwriting in time spent outdoors. Birding shapes the way she listens and observes—skills that translate directly into her music, where patience, detail, and emotion are key. For Bonner, watching and listening to birds is both a creative reset and a source of musical idea

Ellen Bradley

Ellen Bradley is a dedicated biologist and environmental campaigner, previously a General Manager for Curlew Action and Co-Director of UK Youth for Nature. Ellen is currently working on a book all about the weird and wonderful aspects of the wild.

Mark Pearson

Mark Pearson is one of the UK’s most recognisable birders, admired for his expert identification skills and clear, engaging way of sharing knowledge. A regular writer and speaker, he has spent decades observing birds in the field and inspiring others to look more closely through his guiding for Yorkshire Coast Nature and School of Birding.

Stephen Menzie

Stephen Menzie, Project Leader & Western Palearctic Coordinator at Merlin, known for his sharp eye and vast experience leading birding tours around the world. A natural communicator, he combines expert identification skills with an infectious enthusiasm for the in-depth details in birding.
