Speaker: Douglas Orr (Optometrist, Orr & Simpson Eye Care)
This interactive session will outline the benefits of Fundus Autofluorescence, and in particular when combined with OCT and fundus photography. As FAF becomes more widely available we will look at how to interpret FAF images and integrate it with other diagnostic imaging to formulate the appropriate management plan for a range of macular and retinal diseases.
Speaker: Professor John Wild (Cardiff University)
This interactive presentation will, with particular emphasis on primary open-angle glaucoma, discuss the current concepts in the measurement of functional (visual field) and structural (retinal nerve fibre layer thickness, macular ganglion cell inner plexiform layer complex thickness) outcomes assessed by standard automated perimetry as well as by optical coherence tomography.
Using case presentations, the importance of both structural and functional assessment in the detection and follow-up of primary open-angle glaucoma, and the need to reference such findings to the appearance of the optic nerve head.
